----------------------------------old story about IPmail--------------------------------

Posted: July 29, 2008IPmail, Island Packet Mailing List

The email mailing list that has been hosted on Sailnet seems to have stopped working. Many emails to Sailnet requesting information about the non-working IP-list went unanswered. It seems to be on and off.

So as a solution to saving the IP mailing list, I have set up the same software used originally to run the mailing list, ezlm. The goal is to save the IP mailing list and to continue to share IP information, solutions and experiences via the IPmail email list.

Great aspects about IPmail mailing list

  • It is easy to subscribe or un-subscribe, see below...
  • You can read it in your Outlook
  • You can filter the emails into an IPmail folder for archiving
  • You can reply to ALL or reply to the individual author privately
  • It is easy to use and FUN to use....enjoy

How to Subscribe to IPmail

  1. Send an email to ipmail-subscribe@ipphotos.com
    • Look for a confirmation email in your inbox within minutes...
reply to this email and you are on the list, enjoy!
      • Note: This confirmation email may get tagged as a phishing email with a warning, it is not a security issue. It is OK to reply.

How to Un-Subscribe to IPmail

  1. Send an email to ipmail-unsubscribe@ipphotos.com
    • Look for a confirmation email in your inbox within minutes...
reply to this email and you are off the list

How to send emails to the IPmail list:

  1. Send emails to ipmail@ipphotos.com
    • every subscriber will receive your email within minutes

How to REPLY to emails on the IPmail list:

  1. Use REPLY TO ALL, this will send your email reply back to all LIST subscribers as well as the Author of the original email.
(Note: this is a new method, but safer)

  2. Or...

  3. Use REPLY when you want your reply to be private and only go to the Author of the email.
(This is a safety setting to prevent email loops caused by people on vacation who set up an auto reply about being out of the office.)

THAT IS IT....it is that simple.

I hope everyone will continue to share their IP knowledge and experience via our IPmail email mailing list.

IP sailor since 1986: IP owner since 1991

PS:
This web page and set up was created while aboard IP35-165, Island Spirit, 4 miles off the NJ coast while traveling from Sandy Hook, NJ to Cape May NJ. It is a digital world and I love helping our IP community.

IPmail DIGEST Info

How to Subscribe to the IPmail DIGEST

What is the Digest?
It is an email sent a few times a week with a summary of ALL the topics discussed that week. The digest is for people who want to follow the IPmail list, but they do not want to receive each and every email as they happen. If this sounds better for you, then subscribe to the Digest by following the steps below.

  1. First: Unsubscribe your email address from the list by sending an email to:

    •  ipmail-unsubscribe@ipphotos.com

      • Look for a confirmation email in your inbox within minutes...
reply to this email and you are off the list

  2. Now send an email to subscribe to the digest by sending an email to:
    • ipmail-digest-subscribe@ipphotos.com
      • Look for a confirmation email in your inbox within minutes...
reply to this and you will receive the digest a few times a week

How to UN-Subscribe to the IPmail DIGEST

  1. Send an email to ipmail-digest-unsubscribe@ipphotos.com
    • Look for a confirmation email in your inbox within minutes...
reply to this email and you are off the digest mailing.
